Who found when in NJ?
DraftKings Sportsbook has been the first mobile platform to launch Aug. 1, and it held a monopoly on the market for more than three weeks.
The playMGM sports gambling app went live on Aug. 22, and also the coming of SugarHouse Sportsbook a day afterwards brought the running count . A week later, both FanDuel Sportsbook and William Hill combined the online sports betting realm.
Caesars added mobile betting on Sept. 6, just in the nick of time for NFL season. The next Monday, 888 Sportsbook appeared at the Marketplace. Then came BetStars, integrating sportsbook functionality into its existing PokerStarsNJ platform.
Casinos and racetracks are permitted to create as many as three online ventures apiece — and many are set up — but they must have a physical sportsbook first. Eight NJ casinos and racetracks have retail sportsbooks at the moment.
Here’s the present picture for both brick-and-mortar sportsbooks and their associated online brands:
Resorts Atlantic City and DraftKings Sportsbook
Resorts AC has multiple sports betting partnerships under its belt. One of them involves DraftKings Sportsbook, that was formally the first to market with an authorized online sports gambling site and program.
The DraftKings sports betting soft-launched on Aug. 1, along with the full launch came on Monday, Aug. 6. The program and browser-based online sportsbook are totally functional, offering a wide variety of traditional and in-game bets.
In November, DraftKings declared it would operate the retail sportsbook inside of Resorts — its very first brick-and-mortar implementation.

Resorts and BetStars
Resorts has been the most active of the Atlantic City casinos, clearly the first to use its allotment of three online brands.
Early in August, the casino enlarged its longstanding partnership with The Stars Group to add sports betting. The group has years of experience with Resorts, offering NJ online poker and casino platforms beneath the PokerStars brand.
BetStars sportsbook launched on Sept. 13. Its iOS app launched Oct. 20.
SBTech, also Resorts also includes a new partnership with B2B heavyweight SBTech. Under its stewardship, the retail sportsbook opened on property in early August.
Resorts established its self-branded online/mobile platform in January 2019.
Borgata and playMGM
At the Marina District of Atlantic City, the beautiful Borgata launched sports gambling on land on June 14. A little more than two months afterwards, it began offering online wagering via a standalone playMGM sports betting app. Available only on Android, the iOS version went live Oct. 20.
Borgata is using its existing racebook as a temporary, hybrid distance on land, but expansion is on the horizon. Back in December, MGM said the property would invest $7 million into a brand new standalone sportsbook. Timeline? Uncertain at the moment.
Borgata is owned by MGM, which serves up mobile betting in Nevada through playMGM, as well. The newest is also available as a NJ online casino, but the products are different for the time being.
Meanwhile, the MGM has formed partnerships with GVC and Boyd Gaming that will cause additional branded sports gambling apps and websites in numerous countries.
Golden Nugget (and SugarHouse, formerly )
The Golden Nugget has a few significant partnerships in place, but once more, the implementations aren’t fully clear yet. It does have a land-based sportsbook, however, a permanent space that started just in time for football season.
In May, Churchill Downs announced partnerships with the Nugget and SBTech, charting its course into New Jersey. Whether this really is a turnkey partnership or just a skin bargain (more likely) remains to be seen, and launch is not especially imminent — possibly early next year.
The Nugget also had a bargain with Rush Street Gambling, which operates the PlaySugarHouse NJ online casino. On Aug. 23, SugarHouse added sports gambling to the platform, which makes it the third to go on the internet. The SugarHouse Sportsbook can be found on internet and mobile devices.
Golden Nugget itself works virtual and live sportsbooks in Las Vegas, so it likely will not need to engage a new supplier. It needs to be said, though, that ties to the Houston Rockets will preclude the Nugget from taking bets on NBA games in New Jersey.
In October, SugarHouse switched partners and aligned with Monmouth Park, likely to escape from beneath that NBA restriction.
Monmouth Park and William Hill
Monmouth Park began making plans for sports betting back in 2013, securing a partnership with William Hill. The William Hill mobile sports betting app soft-launched on Sept. 2.
Years after their initial union, the land opened the state’s first sportsbook and published the first legal ticket on June 14. The governor was on site to christen the NJ sports gambling industry and wager on the World Cup.
The partnership amounts to bode well for Monmouth Park’s endeavors in the electronic realm. Based in the united kingdom and using a US arm set up, William Hill is equipped with tools, and its US team already operates a Nevada sports betting app. There is no reason to expect anything else in New Jersey.
Monmouth Park and William Hill launched cellular sports gambling final fall.
And SugarHouse
As stated above, SugarHouse joined the Monmouth Park family in October as a license spouse.
Meadowlands Racetrack and FanDuel Sportsbook
If you could select a spot to construct an NJ sportsbook, you might select Meadowlands Racetrack.
The property lives from the shadows of MetLife Stadium, home to the New York Giants and Jets. Having a sportsbook near the border is coveted right now and NJ catches lots of New York traffic. Anticipate fandom and geography to induce busloads of seeing traffic this year.
Like its competitors in Oceanport, Meadowlands is putting together an ambitious program for sport betting. It entered into a long-term venture with Betfair US, the national arm of Paddy Power Betfair.
In the meantime, PPB acquired daily fantasy sports manufacturer FanDuel to serve as the face of its US products. The FanDuel Sportsbook at the Meadowlands Racetrack opened on July 14.
Much like the retail operation, the online/mobile system is branded as a FanDuel Sportsbook. The product launched on Sept. 1.
Australian company PointsBet arrived in the United States in late 2018 using a different kind of sports gambling product. PointsBet partnered with Meadowlands Racetrack to function under its permit as among its three accessible skins.
PointsBet does provide conventional sports betting, but makes its title on a product that allows bettors to win or lose large on each wager.
Ocean Resort Casino
Down to the Boardwalk, the new Ocean Resort Casino is another place you can bet at the moment.
When Bruce Deifik purchased the land in January, he said he wanted it to be the”best in market” for sports betting. Even though the ORC is brand-new, it appears like Deifik is working to make good on those plans.
The bodily sportsbook opened for business in the center of the casino floor on June 28, inhabiting the huge footprint of the former nightclub.
Sportsbook surgeries for ORC are also powered (and branded) by William Hill US. Mobile sports gambling is available through Ocean as well.
Hard Rock Atlantic City
A title change and a renovation have turned the old Trump Taj Mahal to the gorgeous brand new Hard Rock AC property just a couple of strides down the Boardwalk. The hotel started its retail and mobile sports gambling operation in January 2019.
In the grand opening in June, Chairman Jim Allen verified Hard Rock are in the business of sports gambling. We also learned that provider is subject to some additional restrictions because of its connection with the NFL and the Miami Dolphins. Hard Rock won’t be able to”set the bet” as Allen put it, needing a third party to deal with the action.
In July, a new partnership involving HRAC and Bet365 surfaced in papers filed with the DGE. Bet365 is an tremendous outfit based out of England, and Hard Rock provides its entry point to the US marketplace. You’ll see its cellular program hit the virtual shelves at the appointed time, whenever that time might come.
Hard Stone also struck a partnership with Kindred Group — best known for its Unibet brand. Both deals are pure branding prices, nevertheless, so neither supplied insight into Hard Rock’s own strategies.
In October, Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) announced it signed a letter of intent to electricity those Hard Rock platforms. The alliance covers the two retail sports betting on land as well as online/mobile channels.
Caesars, Bally’s, Harrah’s
Caesars has started brick-and-mortar sportsbooks in Bally’s and Harrah’s, the former serving its own eponymous casino on the Boardwalk. As it formed a new partnership with Scientific Games, Caesars declared that mobile/online betting would accompany”quickly.”
About a month after, it delivered. Caesars additional sportsbook functionality to its present NJ online casino app on Sept. 6, just hours before NFL kickoff.
Beneath Caesars’ casino license, the mobile 888 Sportsbook went the following Monday. The 888 iOS app went on Oct. 20.
Apart from Freehold Raceway, that leaves Tropicana since the sole other land we haven’t mentioned.
Eldorado Resorts runs the gaming operations, and it recently entered into a partnership with William Hill for operations. The onsite sportsbook opened in October.
